03 · TIME & MARKS

Pace target and an honest guessing rule

PACE BUDGET

Grade III: 180 min ÷ 150 = 72 s per question. Grade IV: 150 min ÷ 135 ≈ 67 s.

ATTEMPT RULE

Answer what you know in a first pass, mark the rest, then return. With −0.25 for a wrong answer, attempt when you can rule out at least one option.

THE ARITHMETIC

With +1 / −0.25 and four options, a blind guess averages +0.06 marks: close to nothing. Ruling out one option makes it +0.17, ruling out two makes it +0.38.

05 · DESIGN

Preparation plan

A 6-month plan for a working or studying aspirant with 2–4 hours a day. Pick your exact paper first: the plan weights subjects by marks.

  1. PHASE 1

    Verify and baseline

    Week 1–22 h a day

    • Confirm your post level (Class 8, 10, 12 or degree) and age on the latest notice.
    • Take one diagnostic per subject to find your starting point.
    • Collect documents early: HSLC admit card, PRC, caste and employment-exchange certificates.
  2. PHASE 2

    Core build

    Months 1–32–3 h a day

    • Mathematics and English daily: they carry the most marks.
    • Assam History and Geography: one bank section per week (200–400 questions each).
    • Reasoning: 20 questions a day, timed.
    • Current affairs: 15 minutes a day, a weekly Assam summary.
  3. PHASE 3

    Practice and mocks

    Months 4–53 h a day

    • One full-format mock a week, rising to two.
    • Review every wrong answer and log the reason.
    • Re-attempt weak Assam GK sections until accuracy passes 75%.
  4. PHASE 4

    Final month

    Last 4 weeks3–4 h a day

    • Mocks at the real time slot; refine your first-pass / second-pass routine.
    • Revise recall cards and the mistake notebook only.
    • Check admit card, centre and documents a week ahead.

Habits that hold up

  • Do Assam GK in small daily doses: memory is built by spaced recall.
  • Never leave Mathematics for more than a day.
  • Negative marking rewards a calm first pass: do not chase every question.

Start with a 50–30–20 split of learn, practise and revise, then let your own diagnostic results reshape it. joyjatra plans effort; it never predicts rank, cut-off or selection.

06 · ACHIEVE

Practice and question banks

This exam tests Assam. Two topic-wise banks of 4,000 original MCQs are built into the Assam GK hub, section by section, with answers and instant feedback. Every attempt also updates your dashboard for every exam that tests Assam.

The general paper is covered too: 3,997 original MCQs in English, Reasoning, Arithmetic and India GK, each answered blind by a second examiner pass before publication, with explanations in English and Assamese.

Draft status: questions are original practice items awaiting expert review. Report any error from the question screen; never treat a practice item as an official previous-year question.
